Cookie Policy

This policy explains what cookies are, which ones we use on this site, and how you can give, refuse or change your consent at any time, in line with Portuguese Law 41/2004 and CNPD/EDPB guidance.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They are used, for example, to remember preferences or to ensure the basic functioning of pages. We also use the term broadly to cover similar technologies, such as local storage (localStorage).

2. Our principle: prior consent

We only install non-essential cookies after obtaining your consent. Cookies strictly necessary for the site to work require no consent. You can accept all, reject all (just as easily), or choose by category, through our consent banner.

3. Categories of cookies we use

Strictly necessary (always on)

Essential to the operation and security of the site. They require no consent. They include:

  • Light/dark theme preference — local storage "cd-theme" (saves your appearance choice).
  • Record of your cookie choice — local storage "cd-consent" (remembers consent so we don't ask again).
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — anti-spam/anti-bot verification on the contact form, needed for secure submission.
  • Technical cookies from the security/delivery network (Cloudflare), where applicable to protecting the service.

Analytics / statistics (optional, off by default)

Help us understand, in aggregate, how the site is used. When allowed, we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited), which sets cookies such as "_ga" and "_ga_<id>" (valid for up to 2 years) to distinguish visitors. They are only activated after your consent; without it, no analytics cookie is set.

Marketing (optional, off by default)

Used to measure the effectiveness of our campaigns. When allowed, we use Google Ads (Google Ireland Limited) to record conversions — for example, a successful contact-form submission. They are only activated after your consent. Data may be processed by Google outside the European Economic Area, with appropriate safeguards.

4. Managing your consent

You can change your choice at any time using the "Manage cookies" button in the site footer, which reopens the preferences panel. You can also delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings.

Blocking or deleting necessary cookies may affect how parts of the site work (for example, remembering your theme preference).

5. Third-party cookies

Some third-party services (such as Cloudflare Turnstile) may set their own cookies needed to function. Data processing by those third parties is also governed by their respective privacy policies.

6. Changes

Whenever we change the cookies we use, we update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent again. The date of the latest revision appears at the top of the page.
