Early Intervention
Acting early is the step that most transforms a child's journey. With method and warmth, we help the youngest children build the foundations of reading and writing — before difficulty turns into frustration.
Why does early intervention matter?
A child's brain is especially flexible in the first years of school. It is the window in which new reading strategies are learned faster and with less emotional effort.
When we wait too long, the child builds up experiences of failure that affect their confidence. Acting early avoids that wear and opens the way to better outcomes — with no promises of a "cure", but with a clear path.
Who it's for
Children from age 5
Why starting early makes such a difference
A child's earliest experiences of spoken and written language are decisive. They build the foundations of literacy and prepare the way, later on, for learning to read and write.
When we act early, we help the child develop these skills at just the right moment — with greater ease, less effort and far more joy. That is why early intervention is one of the core focuses of our mission.
What we work on (phonics method, around age 5)
Around the age of 5, with a phonics method and plenty of play, we help each child take their first steps in reading and writing. Our goals are:
- To understand that words break down into syllables and sounds (phonemes).
- To broaden vocabulary by learning new words.
- To associate letters with sounds and sounds with letters.
- To hold the pencil correctly.
- To learn the first letters.
- To read and write short, common words.
- To take the first steps in reading and writing.
- And, above all, to take pleasure in learning.
